I have honed my skillset so that I am not dependent on having to exchange my money for convenience foods like hamburger buns. These skills literally become money that I retain in my pocket. Come back tomorrow and I will share this simple hamburger bun recipe! 

Despite living out on the range, I still like to break out some surprises for our kids to make holidays special. I’ve got a fun Halloween inspired drink for the whole family!

It has cooled off and I’ve got a zucchini the size of a two year old child that needs dealt with, so I’ve got baking on the brain today! 

It has been said that the mulberry is the queen of the trees and in that case, I’m bringing you a royal treat, right here on Ranch Raised. 

This weekend I went back to old favorite that I haven’t done in awhile, a smoked beef roast. My freezers are full of home grown beef so for this recipe I prefer a boneless roast like a Pike’s Peak or a Sirloin Tip.

So here’s to the festival organizers, the parade patrollers, the rodeo committees, the county fair boards, and whomever else takes so much pride in their community that they chip in to make it a better place for everyone. We salute you!

This morning we were greeted with some cooler temps which gets me in the mood to turn on the oven and do a little baking. And of course my crew loves a hearty breakfast so we started out day with one of our favorites, the sheet pan pancake, baked in the oven.
