It is finally here and I am so excited that you are here to celebrate with me! Today is a day that I could have not seen coming when I started this project. I had no stars in my eyes. I had no big picture goals. But here we are, our 100th episode of Ranch Raised!
Vincent Van Gogh said, “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” I think that perfectly describes what we are doing here on Ranch Raised. One episode may not have an impact but I hope if you stay tuned in you will see that view here on Ranch Raised is different.
In a time when the world is so unstable, I want to bring you back to your family table. Harmony in the home is harmony in the nation. I want to empower you to know that I am in your corner and that you do not have to conform to the busy-ness and noise that is trying to suck you under. There is actually blessing in the “boring” and it is the gift of peace.
You don’t have to live on a ranch, in the middle of nowhere to live like I do. That is not the point. I hope that I can inspire you to live simply, right where you are. Maybe that means just committing to sitting at the dinner table most nights to enjoy a meal with your family. Maybe that means connecting with where your food comes from and choosing to purchase locally as much as you can. Or maybe you are ready to go full funny farm with the chickens and garden.
Just live real. Just live authentically. But live with an eye on the future and all that is changing around us. Infact, become more mindful, become more intentional, and more prepared.

Karina ranches with her husband, Marty, and 3 daughters near Broken Bow, NE. She grew up in western NE, with roots also in southwest SD. The cattle industry and raising kids is her passion.
Watching the cattle industry go the path that it has gone, she could no longer sit quietly at home checking cows, fixing fence, and doing all the everyday tasks wondering when some else was going to make it all better. As she became more active and outspoken on industry issues, she was asked to join the R-CALF USA staff in September 2020 as the Checkoff Petition Campaign manager. That position transcended into her current role as full time Field Director for R-CALF USA.
