I think every time my husband and I make it through a drought, trucking cows to greener pastures in far off areas, or buying feed at a premium, we tell each other, “we will never feed cows through a drought again.” 

4-H is not just swine and steers. For my family, it also involves a good bit of sewing! There is no 4-H project that brings more nostalgia for me than we start picking out fabrics and patterns and sitting down to sew.

This past weekend we took the kids over to Fort Robinson to check out their new aquatic center. It was like visiting an old friend. 

Fort Robinson has done it right and we are big fans. We can’t wait to take more time on a return trip to explore more and of course take a dip in the pool!

So this is your reminder! Look up and stay alert. If you see something on a power line that looks odd or not quite right, report it immediately! Be the eyes to the sky for your power company, especially in rural areas!

Let’s chat fireworks safety today on Ranch Raised. Okay, I’m playing my “mom card” pretty heavy today. In fact, it is my entire “mom hand” I’m laying on the table. 

Our boots all walk on this American soil. So how can we all contribute to being the best American’s we can be not only for the rest of 2026, but for all of our time spent on this earth.
