I have pondered a lot about seasons this week on Ranch Raised, so I thought it was fitting to share some details about a new season with my work at Your Ag Network.
If you have been looking around the Your Ag Network app or website recently, which I highly recommend, you might have noticed some things look a little different. Monte James and Jesse Stroud have handed me the reins to my third radio program.
What started as a guest interview on the Hot Barn Report a couple of years ago after a chance encounter with Monte at Bassett Livestock Market morphed into a weekly contribution on the HBR. You can hear most every Friday talking about the cattle industry. I cover everything from markets to inventory reports, and other important information and how it affects our nation’s cattle producers.
That weekly gig transcended into the opportunity to take on my own daily show right here! On Ranch Raised I get to talk about all my favorite things from kids to cows and what’s shakin’ in the kitchen to the county fair!
And now you can also hear me bringing you policy updates on my newest program, “From Washington.” Like it or not, politics affects every one of us. For too long our nation’s farmers and ranchers have stayed at the plow doing the work in America’s heartland. I want to make sure you are informed every week about policy happenings that affect your future and livelihood in American agriculture.

Karina ranches with her husband, Marty, and 4 children near Broken Bow, NE. She grew up in western NE, with roots also in southwest SD. The cattle industry and raising kids is her passion.
Watching the cattle industry go the path that it has gone, she could no longer sit quietly at home checking cows, fixing fence, and doing all the everyday tasks wondering when some else was going to make it all better. As she became more active and outspoken on industry issues, she was asked to join the R-CALF USA staff in September 2020 as the Checkoff Petition Campaign manager. That position transcended into her current role as full time Field Director for R-CALF USA.
