Karina Jones is a real-life ranch wife in the Nebraska Sandhills and one of the most highly sought-after speakers in the cattle industry nationwide!
It is National FFA week which really celebrates 2 of my favorite things, kids and agriculture! Thanks for keeping your radio dial right here on Ranch Raised.
As I watch my own daughters traverse their own FFA journey it has exposed me to so many great kids and ag advisors. Today my girls will leave to head down the road to get to their next Nebraska District FFA competition, taking place tomorrow. One of my girls will be competing with her team at the Livestock Management competition which will test their knowledge on all aspects of livestock production. My other daughter heads into a competition that is completely new to her but she has absolutely loved preparing for, the Floriculture competition. This will round out their opportunities to be able to qualify for the State FFA Competition.
The agriculture industry is hungry to bring our youth alongside and to help develop their skills in hopes of them having a long-term future, adding value to our industry. Their minds are young and bright. Their hopes and dreams are boundless. And harnessing their energy is like tapping into the fountain of, well, youth! If you an interest in working alongside our ag youth, reach out to your local FFA chapter and create a relationship! FFA is a youth development organization that is vital to the communities it serves.
Tune in this week as I drop some facts about this iconic organization that has helped build skills, confidence, and dreams into young kids!
