Do you ever look at the rearview mirror to see how far you have come in the last 365 days? Birthdays tend to do that to a person.

So, maybe this is my challenge to all of us during this busy back to school season. Let’s get our tables cleaned off and get some feet under it! 

I wouldn’t say we are deep into fall, but you can definitely feel the summer warmth slipping away. So, I would say we are writing on the last page of summer 2025 and will be starting a new chapter sometime soon. 

Have you ever analyzed your family’s meal habits? How often are you able to sit at a table, in your home and enjoy a meal with every member of your immediate family in attendance? I’m going to bring you more food for thought, during Family Meals Month, here in September!

We somehow morphed into a society that is almost unrecognizable from our humble roots. No one cooks with lard. No one will eat a tomato with a blemish.

So it is with that, that all of us at Your Ag Network salute the laborers of this great country. Enjoyed your holiday weekend. Stay safe and throw some USA beef on the grill. 

Garden harvest season is a time of year that just feels so sacred to me. It gives me opportunity to reflect on the entire process.

It is time to slow down and observe that this time of year means you are now sharing the road with school buses and that is a heavy responsibility that requires your full attention!
