Wrights, World Titles and One Last Vegas Night: NFR Closes with History

TRU Radio Version Sponsored By TD Angus at Rishel Ranch

LAS VEGAS — The final night of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo felt less like a curtain call and more like a victory lap.

By the time the dust settled inside the Thomas & Mack Center, gold buckles had been claimed, family legacies expanded and rodeo history quietly rewritten under the brightest lights the sport has to offer.

All-Around: Stetson Wright Stands Alone

Stetson Wright didn’t need one last ride to secure his place at the top. The Beaver, Utah, cowboy had built enough of a lead that simply watching Round 10 unfold was enough to lock up his sixth all-around world championship. The title capped a comeback season few thought possible after a year lost to injury.

Wright finished the season with $817,088, setting a single-season all-around earnings record and pushing his career world championship total to 10, placing him firmly among PRORODEO’s legends.

Bareback Riding: Steiner’s Moment

The tears were real for Rocker Steiner, who made it to the pay window in Round 10 and secured his first PRCA Bareback Riding World Championship. Steiner finished fifth in the NFR average, while Sam Petersen claimed the average title.

Midwest fans had plenty to cheer for. Jess Pope of Waverly, Kansas, finished second in the average and third in the world, while Garrett Shadbolt of Merriman, Nebraska, closed the Finals eighth in the average and 11th in the world standings.

Steer Wrestling: Consistency Wins

No one was steadier than Tucker Allen, who bulldogged his way to both the world championship and the NFR average title. Allen dominated Las Vegas and finished the season with a record-setting earnings total.

J.D. Struxness of Minnesota capped a strong Finals with a third-place finish in the average and ended the year seventh in the world standings.

Team Roping: Ward and Long Seal the Deal

The final night belonged to Andrew Ward and Jake Long, who tied for the Round 10 win and clinched both the world championships and the NFR average titles. The pairing, formed just this offseason, paid off with record-setting earnings for both header and heeler.

Saddle Bronc Riding: A Family Affair

The Wright brothers turned saddle bronc riding into a family showcase. Statler Wright surged from ninth in the world to claim his first PRCA World Championship, edging out brother Ryder Wright by just $346. Stetson Wright finished third, completing a rare family sweep at the top.

Weston Patterson of Kansas wrapped up his Finals 11th in the average and 13th in the world standings, highlighted by a fifth-place finish in Round 10.

Tie-Down Roping: Webb Makes It Three

Riley Webb did exactly what was needed, finishing Round 10 clean to secure his third consecutive PRCA Tie-Down Roping World Championship and the NFR average title.

Riley Pruitt of Gering, Nebraska, battled through a challenging Finals and finished the season 13th in the world standings.

Barrel Racing: Mowry Repeats

Despite a mistake in Round 10, Kassie Mowry did enough across 10 rounds to defend her WPRA World Championship. Julie Plourde stole the spotlight in the average, charging from No. 16 in the world to win the NFR average title.

Bull Riding: Grit and Buckles

T.J. Gray claimed the NFR average, but Stetson Wright walked away with the bull riding world championship, adding yet another buckle to his collection.

The Colorado Kid, Luke Mackey, finished fourth in Round 10, third in the average and seventh in the world standings. Mason Moody of Letcher, South Dakota, ended the Finals eighth in the average and 11th in the world.
