Last week I shared with you one of my hippie life hacks to help with sore muscles. I will tell you that ranching not only wreaks havoc on your body but also on your skin this time of year. Your hands are constantly exposed to the elements, sometimes getting wet or covered with goo and animal excrement.

This cold weather is hard on everyone! Hard on tractors and equipment, hard on livestock, and hard on herdsman.
Ice chopping is a pain, literally! If it’s not your face, fingers, and toes freezing, it is your shoulders and back burning!
Normal people consider summer, fall, winter and spring the seasons that they turn their calendar too. But, if you have ever spent much time talking to farmers to ranchers and you know that our seasons haying, weaning, ice chopping/feeding, and calving season.
Thanks for making it through your holiday season and tuning back in to Ranch Raised. At this point I feel like I need congratulate all of you if you made it through the weekend without frostbite or any major cold weather complications. WhooHoo! That was a blast, I mean not so much, more of an arctic blast.
But before we slam the door the year, let’s celebrate the #1 highlight of the year! Without a doubt, it would have to be the conception of Ranch Raised!
Our #2 highlight of 2021 here on Ranch Raised is walking along side our girls and raising them on the ranch. Both my husband and I grew up on farms and ranches. I would not know how to raise our kids any other way.
