Karina Jones is a real-life ranch wife in the Nebraska Sandhills and one of the most highly sought-after speakers in the cattle industry nationwide!

Thanks for tuning in to Ranch Raised. If you are a young, sweet ranch or farm wife headed into spring with ideas of blooming flowers and blissful spring sunsets, I am here to tell you, this season will chew you up and spit you out on the other side like a vacation through a chicken plucker. So, get ready, for long days, grueling tasks, lots of miles, everyone needing you to do 10 tasks at the same time in record time to perfection, and did I mention long days???

Build your arsenal of tried-and-true recipes because you never know when there will be impromptu cattle working, a few extra hands for field work, or your kids will have an activity that requires calories, I mean snacks. I’m here to help.

Need a plan because a crew is coming to AI first thing in the morning: Cherry Bars.
Need a dessert for the field crew: Cherry Bars
Need to make one big dessert for a branding crew: Cherry Bars
Need to use up some eggs: Cherry Bars

Breakfast, dessert, or afternoon pick-me-up: Cherry Bars fits the bill for all of the thee above and this recipe makes a big ole batch! This recipe whips up like a dream every time and uses pantry staples. I mean, just plan on making 2 cans of cherry pie filling a pantry staple from here on out. You will understand after you make this pan of perfection!

Tune in tomorrow and I will share my recipe for this Jones Ranch favorite! As always, this recipe will be posted on the Your Ag Network App and Website and the Ranch Raised Facebook page. You won’t wanna miss the midwest classic tomorrow!

Karina ranches with her husband, Marty, and 3 daughters near Broken Bow, NE. She grew up in western NE, with roots also in southwest SD. The cattle industry and raising kids is her passion.

Watching the cattle industry go the path that it has gone, she could no longer sit quietly at home checking cows, fixing fence, and doing all the everyday tasks wondering when some else was going to make it all better. As she became more active and outspoken on industry issues, she was asked to join the R-CALF USA staff in September 2020 as the Checkoff Petition Campaign manager. That position transcended into her current role as full time Field Director for R-CALF USA.

You can hear her almost every Friday on Your Ag Network’s Hot Barn Report that is broadcast on 60 radio stations with coverage in 9 states, where she deep dives into cattle industry issues and highlights R-CALF’s work on industry reforms. Listen to Ranch Raised on a Your Ag Network hometown station or www.youragnetwork.com where she talks about her daily life on the ranch.

Cattle producers are her people. She will meet you at the county fair, at the sale barn, or anywhere the dusty trail leads.
