Thanks for tuning in to Ranch Raised! During this busy season I think it is important to remember that kids really do not need a lot. It reminds me of a few years back when our school principal stood in front of the audience at the little school Christmas program and said, “Your presence is the best gift you can give your child!”
I have never forgotten that statement. So this afternoon we will feed cattle a wee bit earlier and hustle extra had to get chores done. So that when the girls get off the bus I am ready to curl some hair and get them shined up because tonight is the elementary school Christmas program.
Maybe you don’t have any kids performing at the school Christmas program, but don’t ever forget you are always welcome. Our little schools are often the hub of our communities. So even when you may feel like you don’t have anyone around, you always have a seat at your school music programs.
Thank you to the music teachers and staff that have poured to much energy and effort in to those little ones to put on the best show! Now, go check your school calendar are see when your school’s Christmas program is and consider this your invitation!
And parents, I know those bleacher seats aren’t exactly a Lazy-E-Boy, but showing up for your kids is really all they want. They don’t get up on that stage for themselves. They get up there to perform for you!

Watching the cattle industry go the path that it has gone, she could no longer sit quietly at home checking cows, fixing fence, and doing all the everyday tasks wondering when some else was going to make it all better. As she became more active and outspoken on industry issues, she was asked to join the R-CALF USA staff in September 2020 as the Checkoff Petition Campaign manager. That position transcended into her current role as full time Field Director for R-CALF USA.
