Welcome to the Friday edition of the HOT BARN REPORT
Heard ONLY on American radio stations across the nation and online at hotbarnreport.com!

Karina Jones, Field Director for R-Calf USA joins us each Friday from her ranch in the heart of Nebraska covering what’s new and important to the family farm and ranch.

Welcome to this Memorial Day Edition of Hot Barn Report.
It is with genuine attention that we honor the service men and women who died while defending our country. They gave the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedoms.

Throughout America there will be parades, Memorial services, and community gatherings. I know I am lucky to live in a place, in America, that is steeped in these rich traditions.

We are certainly living in some uncertain times, globally and domestically. Maybe now is the time to come together as Americans and tighten the weave of this nation’s fabric, our people. As Ole Glory flies from coast to coast, and border to border, may we remember that what makes us the greatest nation on earth is our people.

As our servicemen and women sacrifice so much, maybe as American citizens we can sacrifice a little more. Like taking a few minutes out of our day to check on a neighbor. Or making the extra effort to write a thank you note to someone who has gone above and beyond recently. Or mentoring a local child or family. Or serving on our local, county, or state boards.

Call me old fashioned or overly sensitive, but I still get goosebumps when I hear the National Athem or when I cross paths with old Glory. Being an American should mean something to all of us that invokes a sense of pride that calls each of us to step up and be the best Americans we can be.

So, let’s not just shuffle through this Memorial Day. Let us all come out on the other side of this treasured holiday with a vow to be the best we can be for our country, our communities, and our family. Some gave their lives being the ultimate American, I know I can do my part to give a little bit more.

This weekend is also the gateway to summer 2022! So, throw some American beef on the grill this summer and hit with a shot of Rick’s salt. If you need a side dish or a dessert, I got you covered, visit my Ranch Raised with Karina Jones tab on the Your Ag Network website for lots of recipes!
