Concerns about drought had already been weighing heavily on the minds of Nebraska ranchers, even before the wildfires broke out last week.
So National Ag Week just feels different this year. So, please stand with Nebraska and our cattle industry. We need you now, more than ever and that is saying a lot for a bunch that doesn’t ever ask for much.
These hills are different and these wildfires have exposed their fragility in ways we absolutely fear as stewards of this land. Continued prayers for all those battling the fires and their aftermath.
My mind and heart are consumed with the devastation that so many in our Sandhills ranching community are going through.
I do not start any of my own garden seeds, I never have. Now, this isn’t to say I have not wanted to.
So, what I am trying to say is, I really don’t know much about what is going on, off of the Jones Ranch. I still know one thing to be true, filling the bellies of the ones you love and spending time with them “breaking bread” is worth the time and effort.

The positive effects of outdoor free play have been studied since the beginning of time and are undeniable. Let’s get families back outside walking the neighborhoods, biking around the park, and even just playing in the good ole dirt!
I was alerted that today was National Pancake Day and it had me thinking that I needed to ask all of you, “does anyone else have a family that loves having breakfast for dinner?” Well, I do!
Spring is right around the corner and I can feel it. There is something about turning the calendar page to March and just knowing we have almost made it.
