Presidents Day Weekend Edition: Early Season Shakeups Highlight PRCA Top 5
By Derek Beck | February 13, 2026
As rodeo fans mark Presidents Day weekend, the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association standings are already delivering plenty of storylines.
A bit of history adds perspective to the holiday edition. In September 1983, former President Ronald Reagan presented championship buckles to rodeo winners during a Presidential Command Performance Rodeo held across the Potomac after an appearance on the White House South Lawn. It was a moment that underscored rodeo’s place in American culture. Decades later, the sport continues to carry that tradition forward, even if White House visits are no longer part of the circuit.
Now, attention turns to major February stops including the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo and Rodeo Rapid City, where recent results have reshaped the leaderboard.
Here’s a look at this week’s PRCA Top 5 as of Feb. 13:
Bareback Riding
Injury news headlines the event early this season. National Finals Rodeo qualifiers Garrett Shadbolt and Jacek Frost are sidelined and aiming for returns by Reno in June.
At the top, Idaho’s Jacob Lees and Wacey Schalla are locked in a tight battle for No. 1. Bradlee Miller sits third, followed by R.C. Landingham and Tilden Hooper.
Steer Wrestling
North Dakota’s Bridger Anderson leads the bulldoggers. Hawaii’s Trisyn Kalawaia holds second, followed by Tyke Kipp, Justin Shaffer and Tyler Waguespack rounding out the Top 5.
Team Roping
In the header standings, Lawton, Iowa’s Corben Culley holds the No. 1 position. Dustin Egusquiza, Tanner Tomlinson, Jake Clay and Jet Toberer follow. Arthur, Nebraska’s Jhett Trenary sits just outside the Top 5 in sixth.
On the heeler side, Trent Vaught leads the way. J.C. Flake is second, with New York’s Jake Edwards in third. Will Woodfin and Coleby Payne complete the Top 5.
Saddle Bronc Riding
Rusty Wright has built an early cushion, holding a lead of more than $22,000 over Wyatt Casper after cashing checks in all three rounds and tying for the championship in Fort Worth. Chase Brooks sits third overall, followed by Wyoming’s Brody Wells and Ryder Sanford.
Tie-Down Roping
Texas ropers dominate four of the five spots. Kincade Henry leads the event, with Marty Yates and Blane Cox close behind. Montana’s Haven Meged is fourth, and Riley Webb rounds out the Top 5.
Barrel Racing
Kassie Mowry leads the pack, followed by Acey Pinkston, Gracen Harman and Tricia Aldridge. Makenzie Mayes holds the fifth position.
Bull Riding
Utah’s Cooper James sits atop the standings. Hayden Welsh of Gillette, Wyoming, is second, with South Dakota’s Mason Moody in third. Stetson Wright and Bryce Jensen complete the Top 5.
With Fort Worth wrapping and Rodeo Rapid City underway, February is already proving pivotal. Early leads are being established, but plenty of road lies ahead before the race to Las Vegas tightens for good.
