The PRCA world standings are shifting as the summer rodeo season begins to build momentum.

With seven straight weeks of rodeos ahead before the Fourth of July Cowboy Christmas run, every ride, run and rope is beginning to carry more weight in the race toward the National Finals Rodeo.

    • This week’s Territorial Rodeo Update Top 5 Countdown begins in bareback riding, where defending world champion Rocker Steiner has moved into the No. 1 spot after a win last week in Corpus Christi, Texas. Bradlee Miller is second, followed by Wacey Schalla, Jacob Lees and Leighton Berry.
    • In steer wrestling, Tyler Waguespack has opened a lead of about $10,000 over Holden Myers. Mike McGinn, Stetson Jorgensen and Cash Robb round out the top five.
    • In team roping headers, Korbin Rice leads the standings, followed by Kaleb Driggers, Jake Smith, Tanner Tomlinson and Dustin Egusquiza.

    • On the heeling side, Missouri’s Cooper Freeman remains No. 1. Junior Nunes Nogueira is second, followed by Douglas Rich, J.C. Flake and Ross Ashford.
    • Saddle bronc riding remains one of the hottest races in rodeo. Stetson Wright leads this week, with Rusty Wright second. The Wright brothers are more than $60,000 ahead of third-place Kade Bruno. Chase Brooks is fourth, and Damian Brennan is fifth.
    • In tie-down roping, Riley Webb continues to build separation at the top. Kincade Henry is second, followed by Brushton Minton, Shane Hanchey and Dylan Hancock.

  • In barrel racing, Texas cowgirl Kassie Mowry holds a commanding lead of about $50,000 over LaTricia Duke. Hailey Gibson-Stillwell, Emily Beisel and Hailey Kinsel complete the top five.
  • Bull riding has a new leader this week, with Tristen Hutchings moving into the top spot. Stetson Wright is second, about $20,000 back. Jake Gardner is third, followed by Texas cowboy Noah Lee and Colorado’s Luke Mackey.

The Territorial Rodeo Update is hosted by Derek Beck and highlights the top cowboys and cowgirls in the PRCA and WPRA standings each week. The program is sponsored by Sioux Steel Company and Gingerich Structures.
