Karina Jones is a real-life ranch wife in the Nebraska Sandhills and one of the most highly sought-after speakers in the cattle industry nationwide!

Celebrating the 4 legged, furry pooches that we couldn’t imagine doing life with out! Thanks for tuning in today to Ranch Raised!

For many us, our canine companions complete our lives.  Dogs are the #1 most commonly owned pets on the planet, and with good reason. Did you know that scientific studies prove our pawsome companions make us happier, less stressed, and more optimistic? The list of benefits to spending time with a dog goes on and on, but it all proves one thing––that a month-long celebration of our furry best friends has been a long time coming. Yes, August is National Dog Month!

Here at the Jones Ranch we could not imagine daily ranch life without our 4 Border Collies and 1 Corgi! Some of our dogs are top notch cow hands. Some of our dogs excel in the show arena as sharp obedience and agility super stars. And our Corgi, well she is in the middle of all the excitement and drama!

This next weekend our 2 oldest girls will be taking 3 of our Border Collies to the Nebraska State Fair to compete in Showmanship, Obedience, Rally, and Agility. Training dogs has been an incredible experience for our kids. The bond they have with their companions is incredible.

If your current situation doesn’t allow you to have a dog, please consider volunteering at a local shelter to walk and play with the dogs who would totally love your attention!

Karina ranches with her husband, Marty, and 4 children near Broken Bow, NE. She grew up in western NE, with roots also in southwest SD. The cattle industry and raising kids is her passion.

Watching the cattle industry go the path that it has gone, she could no longer sit quietly at home checking cows, fixing fence, and doing all the everyday tasks wondering when some else was going to make it all better. As she became more active and outspoken on industry issues, she was asked to join the R-CALF USA staff in September 2020 as the Checkoff Petition Campaign manager. That position transcended into her former role as full time Field Director for R-CALF USA.

Listen to Ranch Raised on a Your Ag Network hometown station or www.youragnetwork.com where she talks about her daily life on the Jones Ranch.

Cattle producers are her people. She will meet you at the county fair, at the sale barn, or anywhere the dusty trail leads.
