TORRINGTON, Wyo. — The race to qualify for the National Finals Steer Roping is picking up steam, with a pivotal stop set for this weekend at the Goshen County Pavilion.

Thirty-three of the top steer ropers in the country are scheduled to compete in the National Circuit Finals Steer Roping, a two-day event that could have major implications on the world standings. The format includes six rounds, followed by a sudden-death Final Four, giving competitors a chance to make a significant move in the season-long chase.

Among those expected to compete is four-time PRCA Steer Roping World Champion Cole Patterson, who has said the Torrington event can play a key role in shaping a cowboy’s season.

As the calendar turns toward the heart of the outdoor rodeo run, movement in the PRCA world standings continues across multiple events.

In bareback riding, Bradlee Miller has moved into the No. 1 position, with Wacey Schalla and Rocker Steiner close behind. Jacob Lees sits fourth, followed by Wyoming’s Cole Reiner in fifth.

Steer wrestling is led by Holden Myers, with Tyler Waguespack in second. Stetson Jorgensen ranks third, followed by Mike McGinn and Jesse Brown.

In team roping, Korbin Rice holds the top spot on the header side. Jake Smith and Kaleb Driggers are locked in a tight race for second and third, while Dustin Egusquiza and Tanner Tomlinson round out the top five.

On the heeler side, Cooper Freeman maintains the No. 1 ranking. Douglas Rich and Junior Nunes Nogueira are second and third, followed by J.C. Flake and Trent Vaught.

Saddle bronc riding continues to be dominated by brothers Stetson and Rusty Wright, who sit first and second. Kade Bruno, Wyatt Casper and Chase Brooks complete the top five.

In tie-down roping, Riley Webb leads the standings with a sizable advantage over Kincade Henry. Brushton Minton is third, followed by Shane Hanchey and Dylan Hancock, who has moved into the top five.

Barrel racing remains headlined by Kassie Mowry, who continues to separate herself from the field. LaTricia Duke is second, with Emily Beisel, Hailey Kinsel and Hayle Gibson-Stillwell rounding out the top five.

Bull riding saw a shake-up at the top, as Stetson Wright moved into the No. 1 position following a win at the Clovis Xtreme Bulls, where he earned $7,156. That victory helped him edge ahead of Jake Gardner. Tristen Hutchings is third, followed by Hayden Welsh of Gillette, Wyoming, and Mason Moody of South Dakota.

With the outdoor season gaining momentum, each stop on the schedule becomes increasingly important as cowboys and cowgirls jockey for position in the race to qualify for their respective National Finals.
