Robbins Leads Bareback After Opening Performance at Nebraska’s BIG Rodeo

BURWELL, Neb. — Rhett Robbins delivered an 82-point ride aboard Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Sucking Wind to take the early bareback lead following Performance No. 1 of Nebraska’s BIG Rodeo.

Robbins leads Connor Griffith, who scored 81 points. Kash Martin sits third with 77.5, followed by Ethan Crouch with 76 and Wild Will DeMontigny with 72. There were no other qualified rides.

Jacob Wang set the pace in steer wrestling with a run of 4.2 seconds. Coy Johnston finished in 5.1 seconds, Weston Taylor posted a 5.6, and Traden Anderson, Adam Newman and Dalton Walker tied with runs of 6.1 seconds.

Clayton Van Aken and Jaydon Warner lead the team roping after stopping the clock in 4.9 seconds. Jacob Stansbury and Hayden Sanders are second at 5.6, followed by Brandon Farris and Braden Harmon at 5.8.

In saddle bronc riding, Jack Chase scored 78 points aboard Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Another Mistake. Lane Schuelke is close behind with 77.5 points, while Lane Wimberly sits third with 77.

Lane Webb leads the tie-down roping with a run of 10.9 seconds. Blake Carter is second at 11.5, while Jate Saults and Travis Staley are tied for third at 11.9.

Lanita Peirce posted the fastest barrel racing time of the opening performance at 17.48 seconds. Keylee Zancanella sits second at 17.69, followed by Stacey Hansen at 17.81. Friday and Saturday Rodeo’s begin at 7:30pm, Gates Open at 6:30pm.
