It seems like I have so much I could say but yet nothing that will make the situation any better.

This time of year we are all looking for those classic spring flavors and sides. Asparagus has got to be one of those iconic veggies that I think of this time of year.

Do any other parents of school age children get to this time of year and feel like you are a hamster just trying to stay on the spinning wheel?!?

If April showers bring May flowers, can someone tell me what this wind will bring?

Last night I was “all ears” listening to some young 4-H public speakers tell me all about what they have learned in 4-H. I learned about Lucy’s lambs, Kennedy’s bucket calf, Lillian’s 4-H lessons, Maysa’s community service, Ryan’s woodworking, and Nicole’s cat. They were so invested in their stories I couldn’t take my eyes and ears off of them.

There is something about waking up the day after Easter and just knowing that spring has sprung!

As a little girl, growing up in Box Butte County, Nebraska, there was only ever one place anyone ever got their shoes and that was on main street, which is a historic cobble stone street I might add, in Alliance, NE.

Every consumer in America is feeling the effects of inflation in the goods that they need for everyday living.

As I stew on this subject of saving small town America and the independently owned businesses that give each community their unique imprint on their trade area, I cannot let go of the sad reality of all that we have to lose by continuing this shift towards consuming from corporations.
