SIOUX FALLS, SD (Sept 27, 2026) – The final day of the Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup presented by Texas Precious Metals was electric from start to finish with multiple arena records being set and cowboys and cowgirls laying it all on the line.
Bareback rider Clayton Biglow arrived in Sioux Falls on Friday wondering if he would qualify for another Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. After the second round, he officially punched his ticket, but he was not done winning. The Clements, California cowboy not only won the event title but left town as one of three contestants who also received the John Deere Top Gun Award. He won a total of $46,533 over the course of three days and will be back in the City of Lights. He won the title setting a new arena record in the final four with a 90.75. It was a log jam for second with the other three – Jayco Roper, Jess Pope and Keenan Hayes – all finishing with 89.25-point rides.
The second of three top earners on the weekend came in the steer wrestling with Dalton Massey winning the title in 3.7 seconds which will move him up in the PRCA World Standings. He edged Jesse Brown and Rowdy Parrott for the title after they each turned in 3.9 second runs.
The team roping title went to the young guns Tyler Tryan and Nicky Northcott who are heading to their first NFR. They stopped the clock in 4.4 seconds edging Andrew Ward and Jake Long, who finished with a 4.6. Tryan and Northcott added another $34,000 to their 2026 earnings.
Saddle bronc riding was won by a blue shirt cowboy this time it was Statler Wright and with the win he officially punched his ticket to the NFR. He did so by setting a new arena record after an electric ride totaling 90.75. He edged Zeke Thurston who finished with 89.5 points. He joins brothers Rusty, Ryder and Stetson as the band of brothers continues to make saddle bronc riding headlines.
World champion Haven Meged took the title in the tie-down roping in a time of 7.7 seconds. Riley Webb, who set a new arena record in the semifinals with a 6.6 second run, had some bad luck in the final round finishing with a no time. Cory Solomon was second with an 8.8.
While Webb had some tough luck, his fiancé Josie Conner took home the breakaway roping title in Sioux Falls stopping the clock in 1.9 seconds. She added $34,000 for the title after squeaking into the semifinals based on a tiebreaker. She is now eyeing a gold buckle of her own as she heads to her fifth National Breakaway Finals. This year’s event will be held in Fort Worth, Texas, at the Will Rogers Memorial Center. All eyes will be on the final breakaway standings come Monday as Bradi Good and Martha Angelone tied for second with 2.4-second runs. Both were on the bubble entering the final day in Sioux Falls.
Another bubble cowgirl was barrel racer Andrea Busby and after winning the Governor’s Cup and adding $34,000 she will now start making plans to be back in Las Vegas for her third NFR. Busby and her great horse Benny had a downed barrel in the first round but neither gave up on each other and they squeaked into the semifinals for Sunday. Once in Busby and Benny laid it all on the line stopping the clock in the final round in a time of 14.02 seconds. They also won the semifinal round in a time of 13.96 seconds to advance to the Final Four. Emily Beisel and Chewy finished second in a time of 14.04 seconds.
This year’s PRCA bull riding rookie class is one of the best ever and they showed why they have been making headlines all year. World standings and rookie leader Noah Lee got the job done in Sioux Falls winning the bull riding with a 91-point ride. Lee was the third of the Top Gun money earning trio leaving town with $46,533. John Crimber, who is trying to be the first to win a PBR and PRCA world title in the same year and competing on his PRCA rookie card finished second with an 88.5. If the bull riding in Sioux Falls is any indication of what fans can expect to see at the Thomas and Mack in Las Vegas, then they are in for a treat. These young guys mixed with the veterans will be an event you want to keep your eyes on.
The PRCA and WPRA 2026 regular season will officially come to a close on September 30.
